What are drivers?
A driver is actually an intermediator that takes code from hardware devices that can be found on your pc, and translates them for your application. Without drivers the would be an information block, as no device knows how to relate to any of the apps.
Drivers successfully manipulate the information and pass it between their clients, so that the system can deliver the functionalily it is designed to. Devices “talk” to aps, and all this communication relies on the help of drivers to make it possible. Drivers are cruciall, and without drivers the app will simply cease to function.
Drivers have to be uptodate in order to correctly implement their correlating program’s functions. If a program is updated, or the operating system is upgraded, the drivers have to be updated as well, otherwise there might arise conflicts between the drivers themselves, between drivers and programs of between the drivers and the os.
Every device has its own driver, so there are thousands of drivers on each machine at any given moment.
When Drivers crash your application
Your applications, software and programs can suffer as a result of bad or outdated drivers. Some programs can misfunction or stop working all together.
One of the most common problems caused by outdated drivers is the relentless error pop up window, that can be quite bothersome, as it keeps popping up reporting the bad driver and the error it causes. Another common problem is the inevitable system slow down that follows bad drivers. These problems can be avoided if you keep all your driver nice and neat, and remember to update them on a regular basis, or at least after each program upgrade.
How do I do it?
The easiest way to update your drivers is by using a driver scan software.
One can be purchased at a very low cost of around 50$, and it offers a very clean and easy way of updating your drivers.
The more difficult way is using the windows device manager, that is specially designed to track down broken drivers and replace them one by one.
Using the windows device manager is a good way to go about updating your drivers if you only have one or two drivers to update. When you go through a system upgrade (upgrading windows version) it is necessary to update all your drivers, so using the device manager is of no use, as it is extremely (and unneccessariuly) time consuming
